I am about as easy going a person as you could ever hope to meet.
I don't define myself by what I do, but I do love what I do, which is teaching guitar, making surfboards and working as a supply teacher.
Music taste is pretty much everything, and I mean everything from Bach and Vivaldi to Jack Johnson and Thrift Shop. At times you've just got to put something with beat and have a boogie. Yes I said boogie. I am a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, piano, saxophone, trumpet, flute, didgeridoo, uku'lele, mandolin) so music is a big ole' passion of mine.
Former scuba diving instructor, my professional status hasn't been renewed but I did that for a season in Cyprus which was pretty epic.
I'm studying Marine Biology at Hull Uni next year and my ambition is to translate dolphin speak for a PhD. I reckon it's doable. And then we could have chats with dolphins. Yes I know, it would be cool. Failing that I would like to buy a VW camper van and road trip the coasts of Europe and Africa for a while and just surf and travel, but really I'd like a companion for that sort of trip.
Whatever, I am a genuinely nice guy, who tries really hard. My scruffy hair and beard shouldn't put you off. I try and keep gallantry alive. Holding doors and pulling out chairs. It's old school but that's the way I like to treat a lady.
I usually manage to get even the most stony faced person giggling like a loon, or at the very least chuckling.
I do not have a six pack and chances are I never will. But whatever. As a gigging musician and surfboard shaper (yes I make surfboards and surf in East Yorkshire), whatever, I can offer interesting conversation and stories.
